Craig Pooley
Guitarist/Vocalist
This view of the train ride south through Sudan in 1986 was taken while on a six month trek through Europe , Israel & Africa. Hearing the mystical guitars from old town Dubrovnik , Busking with friends in Tel Aviv and the Red Sea, visiting the Church of the Nativity and hearing stories of travels to the Sahara . The amazing sunsets and prayer songs sounding out , the friendly Bedouin people . The Red Sea and sea urchins keeping us literally on our toes while we soaked up the sun and surf.
Craig traveled along with other travelers going the same route , meeting Danish & Sudanese travelers heading back to Omdurman, Sudan. Over a 14 day trek, to Central Africa Republic, and into the interior of the jungle, ferry down The Congo river to Kisangani , Zaire, The river changed my imagination for the jungle , it had floating islands of green , drum chants at night, the smell of herb, laughter and celebration of the earths glory.
I have known Craig for 30 years. We first bonded over our love of music and the classical guitar. I have known him to be very studious always pursuing a higher level in his life. Craig is never satisfied where he is at. Always trying to improve, a true professional. He always has been and will continue to be somebody who I look up too, somebody who inspires me to become a better person and a better player.
